Olympic Drama In Cary

The Olympic Table Tennis trials were held in Cary over the weekend. The sport’s premier event provided plenty of drama.

Dave DeWitt: Like every sport, table tennis has its quirks and traditions. What’s obvious right away to anyone new to the elite level of table tennis is, these athletes are loud. North Carolina and NC State return to action tonight in the NCAA men's basketball tournament. The Tar Heels take on Ohio with all eyes on the point guard. Coach Roy Williams says freshman Stilman White will likely start for the injured Kendall Marshall.

Roy Williams: Stilman, yeah, he really is - he's the guy that's gonna play. Stillman and Jay Watts. As long as their heart's not beating so fast that they pass out before they get to the court, I think we'll still have five guys out there starting.

Heels and Pack head to the Sweet 16

UNC and NC State are moving on to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA men's basketball Tournament. But the news isn't all good.

Jeff Tiberii: Moments after UNC's convincing 87-73 win against Creighton in the Round of 32, Dennis Marshall stood three rows behind the Tar Heel bench with a look of grave concern. His son, Kendall has just scored 18 points and dished out 11 assists. But dad had noticed Kendall hadn't touched the ball with his right hand for the last 10 minutes of the game, after being fouled hard. Moments later Roy Williams confirmed dad's fears:
