In the early 1960s, moptop-mania took over when a charismatic British foursome came to America for the first time.  As the times changed, the Beatles became more than a band of teen idols.  By the end of the decade, the media darlings had transformed into agents of American counterculture and political opposition.  Simultaneously, media coverage of them began to change and an audience for rock journalism was born.  Elon University communications professor Michael Frontani discusses his new book, "The Beatles: Image & the Media" (University Press of Mississippi/2007) with host Frank Stasio.  (LT)(32:00)
