Former Squirrel Nut Zipper Tom Maxwell tells the story of trombonist Jack Teagarden in the new annual Southern Music Issue of The Oxford American Magazine. Teagarden was Louis Armstrong's favorite trombonist. He played with Armstrong's band as well as greats like Duke Ellington and Bing Crosby. Tom Maxwell joins host Frank Stasio to recount the story of Jack Teagrden and why his music still rings true today.
