The Road from Chapel Hill

British author Joanna Catherine Scott knew little about North Carolina's past when she moved to the state in the 1970s.  After reading a brief paragraph about a slave named Tom in a local history book, she was inspired to pen "The Road From Chapel Hill,"  (Berkley Books/2006) a novel set in the Tar Heel State at the start of the Civil War.  Scott joins host Frank Stasio to talk about taking a historically correct approach to writing fiction.
