President-elect Barack Obama had resounding support from Hip Hop artists during his political campaign. But the next American president has made it clear he is no fan of the sagging pants style so popular in Hip Hop culture. With the Obamas already highly regarded as icons of style in the mainstream media, could this signal a sea change in Hip Hop fashion? Locally, Kent Williams Jr., a member of "Generation O" and the student body president at North Carolina Central University, is taking action to encourage his classmates to dress more formally while on campus. Williams' initiative is modeled after policies already found at a number of historically black colleges and universities around the country. Host Frank Stasio discusses what the incoming administration could mean for fashion with Mark Anthony Neal, a professor of Black Popular Culture at Duke University.
