The enactment of Proposition 8 in California has reignited the debate over marriage equality in this country. So, how does marriage fit into the American paradigm of civil rights? And, who gets to define marriage: the courts, the church… the electorate? Host Frank Stasio presides over a roundtable discussion about the legal and religious dimensions of marriage with: Steven Petrow, former president of the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association; Kathryn Kolbert, president of People For the American Way; E. Patrick Johnson, professor in the Department of African American Studies at Northwestern University; and, Ara Wilson, associate professor of Women's Studies and Cultural Anthropology and director of the program in the Study of Sexualities at Duke University.
