U.S. efforts to isolate Cuba over the past 50 years have resulted in Americans having very little knowledge or understanding of the country and its people. A new book of photographs examines this unknown Cuba from an outsider’s perspective. Inspired by a series of trips he took to Cuba, writer and photographer Alex Harris joins Frank Stasio to discuss his new book “The Idea of Cuba.” Also joining the conversation is Lillian Guerra, a Professor of Caribbean History at Yale University and a Cuban-American who contributed an essay to the book.
