From the American Dance Festival and the Bull Durham Blues Fest to Full Frame and the Troika Music Festival, Durham is home to some of the biggest arts and culture events in North Carolina. But, the thriving arts scene that exists today wasn't built in a day. In fact, a new book called "Brighter Leaves" reveals how Durham was slowly transformed from a city known mainly for mass tobacco production into one of the most admired cultural capitals of the South. Historian Jim Wise joins host Frank Stasio to revisit Durham's artistic roots and talk about what's next for creative culture in the Bull City.
