Since the election of Barack Obama one year ago, the media have made much of the idea that the first black president could signify that we are living in a post-racial America. But North Carolina State University Psychology Professor Rupert Nacoste says the media are having the wrong conversation about race. Nacoste believes that Obama's election is one step along a "new racial frontier" that began with desegregation, but that most people have no idea how to relate to those who are culturally or ethnically different than them. Nacoste joins host Frank Stasio to share his theory on current race relations and talk about the challenges to constructing identity in a melting pot society.
