A new book by N.C.State librarian Maurice York presents, for the first time, Ralph Waldo Emerson’s last lectures. Plus, Raleigh playwright Ira Knight has staged a literal and metaphorical meeting of two giants of the 19^th century. “When Ralph Waldo Emerson Met The Frederick Douglass” opens at the Durham Arts Council this weekend.
