Jeffrey Beam left Kannapolis in the 1970s for college in Charlotte and then a life of writing in Chapel Hill. The journey wasn't long in miles but it allowed Jeffrey to discover his true self. Fourteen books and two CDs later, he has a loyal following as an outspoken "queer" poet and performer. He has a new book called "The Beautiful Tendons" and it collects his poems from the previous 39 years. Jeffrey Beam speaks with host Frank Stasio about his life in literature and his love of the North Carolina landscape and people.
