The Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged more than 500 points yesterday on news that financial giant Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy and Charlotte-based Bank of America acquired troubled Merrill Lynch. Ed Van Wessup, professor of finance at UNC’s Kenan Flagler Business School joins host Frank Stasio to make sense of the financial meltdown and to reflect on Charlotte’s new prominence in the world of international finance.
