Education is the foundation of Durham-based hip-hop band, The Beast. In fact, the group was first formed to complete an academic project. But what started as a scholarly assignment has now turned into an exciting fusion of knowledge, jazz and spoken word. The Beast has just released its first CD. The band members stop by to perform and chat with host Frank Stasio about musical storytelling and reaching out to young emcees.
