In North Carolina, teachers can get pay raises by boosting their teaching credentials. But Duke University Economist Jacob Vigdor says those salary increases don’t necessarily result in better teachers. Instead, he suggests a new plan for compensating teachers that rewards the beginners, not the veterans. Jacob Vigdor joins host Frank Stasio to explain his theory and how it could be put into practice.
