In 1968 Elaine Riddick was labeled “feebleminded” by the state of North Carolina and sterilized without her knowledge or consent at age 14. A short film by photographer Dan Currier, “Labeled” examines Elaine’s story. Dan and Elaine join host Frank Stasio to discuss the film and the legacy of North Carolina’s Eugenics program.
