When Brett Ingram first saw Renaldo Kuhler on a Raleigh city bus almost 20 years ago, he could tell from the bushy white beard, tailored shorts and tall socks that he'd encountered a character. When he got to know him later, he found out that Kuhler was a brilliant artist who had spent decades creating an illustrated fantasy world to which he escaped. Ingram's film "Rocaterrania" explores that world and its eccentric creator. It screens on Saturday at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences. Host Frank Stasio talks to Ingram, a professor of filmmaking at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
