Brown v. Board of Education made school integration possible, but it was individual acts of courage that actually broke through the racial divide. Aaron McCrae Jr. entered a white school in Wilmington, N.C., amidst death threats from his fellow students and their parents. McCrae’s bravery as his school’s lone black student opened doors for those who followed him. But his resolve also came with a heavy price. Aaron McCrae Jr. joins host Frank Stasio to talk about the legacy of school desegregation.
