Murder in the Military

Bookmark and Share

On Monday, President Bush approved the execution of a soldier convicted of four murders and several rapes in Fayetteville in the late 1980s. Meanwhile, Fayetteville and Jacksonville are still reeling from a recent string of murders in their military communities. These news stories are the talk of the town in North Carolina’s military towns and they’re raising questions about incidences of domestic violence during wartime. Is the military simply an easy target to blame, or is there something else going on? Host Frank Stasio discusses the latest news stories and their impact with: Mike Graff and Mike Adams of the Fayetteville Observer; Barbara Barrett, Washington Correspondent for the News & Observer; Donald Shreve and Jennifer Libby, from the Onslow Women’s Center; and Lisa James and Jackie Campbell, national leaders in advocacy and research in the field of domestic violence.
