Merge Records turns 20 this year. The indie label earned respect as a home to cult favorites like Teenage Fanclub and Neutral Milk Hotel, and eventually to future superstars Arcade Fire and Spoon. Founders Mac McCaughan and Laura Balance join us for a look back at the formative years. As bandmates in SuperChunk and business partners at Merge, they have devoted themselves to making and promoting the music they love.
