Going Geothermal

Geothermal energy uses water pumped deep underground and back to the surface to control the temperature in a building. The Chapel Hill municipal building, the Orange County courthouse expansion, a new addition at Pullen Memorial Baptist Church in Raleigh and Greenfire Development in Durham are all using geothermal technology to reduce the energy needed to keep a building cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Host Frank Stasio talks to architect Ken Redfoot and Greenfire property manager Joe Lemanski about bringing this technology to North Carolina.
