Violent Crime in N.C.

Bookmark and Share

The Triangle area was shaken recently by high profile murders on college campuses. But media coverage may obscure the danger in our communities. While the homicide rate jumped last year, other violent crimes were down. Host Frank Stasio explores the meaning behind the numbers and historical crime trends with Duke University’s Joel Rosch and N.C. State sociologist Patricia McCall. Plus, Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Lang discusses an innovative program taking aim at violent crime in the region. And, the mother of a murdered teenager is joined by an ex-felon who’s changed his ways.
