Jake Fades

Durham author David Guy brings the lofty Zen Buddhism concept of transmission, or the passing of knowledge from one teacher to another, down to earth in his latest novel, "Jake Fades" (Shambhala Puublications/2007). Featuring a gluttonous Zen priest and a noncommittal Dharma heir, the book puts a human face on the enlightened mind. David Guy joins host Frank Stasio in the studio to talk about beer, donuts, the nature of desire and the impermanence of life.
