Larry Larson grew up in coffee country: he was raised near Seattle--the hometown of Starbucks. So when Larry moved to Raleigh in the early 1990s, he decided to open a coffee shop. Fourteen years later, Larry’s Beans sells its roasted coffee beans to hundreds of businesses around North Carolina and as far north as Maine. The company is also the first roaster in North Carolina to go to 100 percent Fair Trade coffee. Larry Larson joins host Frank Stasio to talk about his entrepreneurial spirit and the importance of fair trade.
