"Go! Fight! Win!" More and more, today's cheerleaders are taking their own advice when it comes to beating the competition. After all, the sport has moved off the sidelines and into the athletic arena. Like any other competitive sport, success in cheering amounts to physical and emotional sacrifice. North Carolina author Kate Torgovnick studied the members of three competitive squads at the collegiate level and documented her findings in a new book, "Cheer!" (Touchstone/2008). Torgovnick joins host Frank Stasio to talk about this unique population of athletes who battle body image issues, serious injuries, and a lack of respect for their sport...all with a smile.
