After graduating from Duke University last May with a degree in public policy, 23-year-old Jeff Stern went home to Philadelphia and packed his bags. Then, with all but 50 cents of his life’s savings in hand, he headed off to Afghanistan. During his four months as a freelance journalist in Kabul, Jeff experienced morgues, jails, bombings… and a lot of humanity and kindness. He joins host Frank Stasio to talk about his unique experiences reporting on life in Afghanistan.
