Last week, a House ethics committee recommended that Representative Thomas Wright be kicked out of the legislature. Among other ethical violations, Wright is accused of failing to report nearly $200,000 in campaign donations. The Wilmington Democrat will stand trial on charges of felony fraud at the end of this month. Now the question is whether the full House will vote to boot him. If they do, he’ll be the first legislator expelled since 1880. WUNC Capital Reporter Laura Leslie talks to host Frank Stasio about the case.
