In 1999, biologist
Tyrone Hayes’ job was to test the safety of a widely used weed killer. He found
that a chemical ingredient in the product was causing sexual abnormalities in
frogs. He says that when he took his
findings to the company that made the product, they found creative ways to
disregard his scientific studies and attempted to buy his silence. Hayes joins
host Frank Stasio in the studio to talk about corporate sponsorship of
scientific research.
