In 1971, Bruce Jackson visited what was considered the worst prison in the country--the Cummins prison near Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Conditions at Cummins were so poor, a federal judge ruled the prison system unconstitutional. Jackson shot four thousand images of the Cummins prison using a special wide-lens camera. A group of those photos are now on view at Duke's Center for Documentary Studies. Bruce Jackson discusses his Widelux photos and their story-telling power with host Frank Stasio.
