Readers of Newsweek magazine have long looked to writer Malcolm Jones for clear-eyed analyses of books and pop culture. Recently, Jones turned his gaze inward to write the memoir, “Little Boy Blues” (Pantheon/2010). In it, he recalls his highly dysfunctional Southern childhood. He grew up in Winston-Salem in a world populated by elderly aunts and uncles, a mostly absent, alcoholic father and an emotional jigsaw puzzle of a mother. Jones talks to host Frank Stasio about his book and how having the little boy blues made him the journalist he is today.
