Andrew Park carefully avoided talking too much about God or the role of religion in his life until his 3-year-old son started asking him questions about both. Raised a religious skeptic, Park realized he needed to understand his own relationship with faith in order to talk to his children about theirs. His questions led him on a journalistic journey through his family’s past as he wrote “Between a Church and a Hard Place: One Faith-Free Dad’s Struggle to Understand What it Means to Be Religious (or Not).” Park, a freelance journalist who lives in Chapel Hill, talks with host Janet Babin about the book and the exploration of his own beliefs.
