In 2001, Marianne Gingher published her first memoir, "A Girl's Life: Horses, Boys, Weddings, and Luck." Gingher's life is so full of comical experiences that she's back eight years later with a new collection of personal reflections. This time, she charts her hysterical path to becoming a writer, a career goal she first carved out for herself at the age of six. From her first original story about a disturbingly troubled pair of married rabbits to the challenge of having to divide time devoted to her literary dreams with a family and creative-writing students, Gingher looks back on her life with a keen wit and imaginative perspective. The author sits down with host Frank Stasio to discuss "Adventures in Pen Land" (University of Missouri Press/2008).
