The Civil Rights Movement: Where Do We Go From Here?

We honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as we prepare to inaugurate the country’s first black president. How far has the civil rights movement come and where does it go from here?

Frank Stasio's guests will be Reginald Hildebrand, associate professor of History and African & Afro-American Studies at UNC-Chapel Hill; Tara Lake,a teacher of African-American history at LA Valley College; Constance Curry, activist and author of several books including “Silver Rights” and producer of the new film “The Intolerable Burden”; Jack Tyler, a student who works for the N.C. African Services Coalition; Jon William Sweitzer-Lamme, an Obama supporter and student at the N.C. School of Science and Math in Durham; and Fatima Dean, an underwriting team leader for The Redwoods Group.
