Most art biennials are big-budget shows planned years in advance. But not so with the “Bailout Biennial,” which opens tonight in downtown Durham’s Golden Belt complex. The zero frills, zero-budget show features artists’ reactions to global capitalism and greed. Co-curators Elin O’Hara Slavick and Jeff Waites discuss finding the humor, the bitterness and the beauty in the current economic crisis.
