The tale of Orpheus and Euridice was first composed sometime around the sixth century B.C. In the intervening millennia, the story has been told and retold across cultures and art forms, but composer Ricky Ian Gordon discovered his version of the Greek myth in a dream. Gordon put his dream to paper, and the result is the opera debuting tonight on the Long Leaf Opera Festival stage. Ricky Ian Gordon joins host Frank Stasio today to talk about his opera and his creative process.
