As prices rise at the gas pump, advocates are fueling their cause for a local rail transit system. Wake-up Wake County! is driving its message home tonight in a forum called: TRANSIT: Is Wake County Ready for It? Four million people are expected to move to the Triangle in the next twenty years. North Carolina Transportation board member Nina Szolberg says a light rail system would bring economic growth to neighborhoods and businesses. But convincing the public is another thing. Szolberg and NPR host and urban expert Carol Coletta will talk about the fight to get area residents out of the driver’s seat and into a mass transit way of life. They discuss their crusade with Frank Stasio today.
