The Indigo Girls' Amy Ray: Her New Album Is A Little Bit Country, And A Lot North Carolina

Amy Ray is likely best known as a member of the duo the Indigo Girls. She has a solo career as well and this week the Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter released her first country record.  It's called "Goodnight Tender" and it has tons of North Carolina connections. It was recorded at Echo Mountain Studios in Asheville.  There are local musicians involved, like the brothers from Megafaun.

The Indigo Girls Live On Last Motel

This summer, the Indigo Girls played a show at Manifold Recording in Pittsboro, streamed live on WUNC’s Last Motel with Eric Hodge. During their time on stage, they played a range of songs and also spoke about their lives and musical careers. 

The Last Motel live stream features portions of this concert as part of the program rotation from now until Sunday, July 14.
