Elizabeth Dole fielded questions from a moderator and an audience of students at Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh yesterday. After the event, she told reporters she feels confident about the race.

"Our internal polls are showing us very strong. we’re going to win this election."

According to the most recent survey by Democratic firm Public Policy Polling, 46 percent of voters support Kay Hagan, while 44 percent support Dole. At a rally at Duke University, Hagan said there are more than 400 thousand new voters registered in North Carolina.

"And the good news is they’re leading Democrat to Republican over 5 to one and we’re going to turn this state blue."

Money may become an issue in the final weeks before the election.  Dole’s campaign has reported having 1.7 million dollars in cash on hand- nearly double the Hagan's reserves.
