Polls Open Until 7:30 p.m.

It's election day today. Voters in the Triangle and Triad will decide races in dozens of municipal elections.

In Greensboro, voters will fill 8 positions on the city council. The field of candidates competing for the city council at-large seats has been narrowed down to 6 people from 11 in the primary. Greensboro voters will also choose between two candidates on the ballot for mayor: Incumbent Yvonne Johnson or challenger Bill Knight.

Voters in several other cities will choose mayors and council members, including, Durham, Fayetteville and Chapel Hill. Four candidates are competing in Chapel Hill's mayoral race. There's no incumbent, since Mayor Kevin Foy decided to step down after four terms.
