Davidson college came within one basket of making the Final Four in the NCAA men's basketball tournament. Davidson had the ball with 16-seconds left -- but missed a 3-pointer that would have led to one more upset for the Wildcats. Davidson is a small private liberal arts college north of Charlotte. During their improbable run, the Wildcats beat better known teams from Gonzaga, Georgetown and Wisconsin. Davidson coach Bob McKillop said after the game last night that he's disappointed the season had to end with a loss.
"Well the agony of this is that we've come so far and smelled and touched and seen our dream, but haven't fully embraced it because of one possession at the end there, but it wasn't one possession at the end it was one possession here one possession there and there will be so many opportunities to reflect upon which was that possession."
The top seeded University of North Carolina is one of the four teams still alive in the tournament. The Tar Heels join Kansas, UCLA and Memphis in the Final Four this weekend in San Antonio.
