Six people were hurt and 10 to 20 structures were damaged when a strong line of storms swept across North Carolina on Sunday. The worst of the damage was along the Jones-Onslow county line and further east. Ron Humble with the National Weather Service says North Carolina got off easy when compared to damage in three other states.
"That is relatively typical when we do have tornadoes we are fortunate enough that many times they're relatively benign if you can say that about a tornado."
The tornado watches are over -- but the National Weather Service says high winds are still likely today. A wind advisory has been issued for much of the North Carolina mountains. The Triangle area will see 20 to 25 mile an hour winds.
