The state Republican party is gearing up for November with the launch of three new campaign offices today. The GOP is holding grand opening events today for new field offices in Winston Salem, High Point and Raleigh. The victory 2008 offices will anchor the state campaign of presidential candidate John McCain. But party spokesman Brent Woodcox says they’ll also serve Elizabeth Dole, Pat McCrory, and all the other republican candidates on the ballot.
"Getting out the vote, making phone calls, going door to door – these peer to peer contacts are really the lifeblood of grassroots politics, and that’s what these offices serve as."
Woodcox says the GOP will eventually have nine campaign offices around the state. North Carolina Democrats are also opening new field locations this week in Cary and Chapel Hill, bringing their official total to 15.
