UNC Football Players Suspended

Jeremy Loeb: As many as 15 UNC football players may not play in tomorrow's season opening game. The program is in the midst of two investigations by the school and the NCAA into dealings with sports agents and academic fraud. Dave DeWitt reports.
Dave DeWitt: When the chartered plane carrying the UNC football team left this morning for Atlanta, 15 players weren't on it. Six have been suspended for Saturday's game against LSU, six others are being withheld, and the University is working to have the eligibility establsihed for three others. The 15 include several starters and key players.
In a written statement released today, football coach Butch Davis said: "There is no single game more important than the character and integrity of this University."
UNC takes on L-S-U tomorrow night. The game is the featured national broadcast on ESPN.
