Next week, thousands of mental health patients in the Triangle will find some changes in their care, or they may be going without. That’s because one of the major agencies providing care in Orange, Person and Chatham counties has announced it will downsize. Patients are searching for new caregivers, but advocates and providers say there won’t be enough to take up all the slack. And critics of the state’s mental health reform effort say it’s just another sign that state’s efforts at reform are failing. Rose Hoban reports.
