September is peak hurricane season in North Carolina. And today is the tenth anniversary of Hurricane Fran, which plowed directly into the heart of the state. So far this year, North Carolinians have only had to weather two tropical storms. But there's always the possibility of a much more dangerous succession of storms. We begin a series today on hurricane preparedness with a look at how bad it could be. Melinda Penkava prepared this report.
