The first class will be inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame this weekend in Charlotte. The five inductees include three North Carolinians: Junior Johnson, Richard Petty, and Dale Earnhardt.
But while other sports halls of fame include players from every position as well as coaches and others, it will be a long, long time before the NASCAR Hall of Fame inducts anyone who spent a majority of their career toiling on a pit crew. But as Dave DeWitt reports, it’s the guys in the pits who make the difference.
