Blogging may be sporadic here for the next week. We’re in the middle of our fall fund drive, and while I’ll do my best to keep up with the rest of the world, asking for money is actually harder work than you might think.
Speaking of which…
If you’re inclined, please consider dropping something in the tip jar. And if you put it on Visa or Mastercard, you even get a year’s free subscription to Newsweek.
We have all kinds of fabulous thank-you gifts, including one tailor-made for us political geeks – two tickets to the Capitol Steps, coming to Memorial Hall Dec. 12th. Between the GOP scandals and the primary races, heaven knows there’s no shortage of material, so it ought to be a great show. For some reason, it isn’t listed on our website, but you can find out more about it at 1-800-962-9862.
I promise not to flog the fund drive everyday…but the only thing that keeps the Tavern lights burning is contributions from listeners and readers. So if you can help, please do – and remember to tell ‘em who sent you. ;)
NCICL: Round 3
The NC Institute of Constitutional Law announced this afternoon it will take its case against the Dell incentive package to the state’s highest court. The Court of Appeals ruled yesterday that incentives are constitutional. It was a unanimous finding by the three-judge panel, which means the State Supreme Court can choose not to hear the case. But NCICL is hoping the high court will take it up anyway. The AP has the full story here.
By the way – the Bill Graham who’s now managing director at NCICL is not the Bill Graham who’s running against NCICL founder Robert Orr in the GOP gubernatorial race. For a moment there, I wondered whether things were about to get *really* interesting.
Comments? Drop me a line.
