Thanks so much to those of you who contributed to WUNC's Spring Fund Drive.   We did make our goal Friday afternoon - and we couldn't have done it without you!

Politicians behaving badly?

The N&O’s Mandy Locke reports federal investigators are looking into whether John Edwards improperly used campaign funds from non-profits to hide his affair with Rielle Hunter.  Props to Locke for a smart explanation of the transparency problems in current campaign finance law.

Greensboro’s Mark Binker has the latest on the investigation of Alamance Rep. Cary Allred. probe story.

Char-O’s Mark Johnson posted an interesting profile of Rep. Ric Killian (R-Meck).

Asheville’s Jordan Schrader details developments in the battle over video gambling.

At the Star-News, Ana Ribiero talks to a Brunswick parent concerned about the sex ed bill that's headed for a Senate floor vote Monday night.

The N&O’s Rob Christensen puts the state employee furlough plan into perspective.

Candidates for the late Vernon Malone’s state Senate seat lined up to talk to Wake County Dems yesterday.  Party leaders are expected to choose an appointee Wednesday. The N&O’s Mandy Locke has the recap.

At the VA Pilot, Catherine Kozak says the sudden emergence of a pair of old deeds will allow the Bonner Bridge project to move forward without the okay of the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge.

Charlotte's Jack Betts looks back on past gubernatorial promises to improve transportation in Charlotte.

VA Gov. Tim Kaine told attendees at last night’s Jefferson Jackson dinner that Obama’s NC win surprised the DNC.  Senator Kay Hagan and Governor Bev Perdue also spoke.  The AP’s Estes Thompson has the details.
