Monday: New Hampshire Eve

The Tavern's closing a little early tonight - it's going to be a long week, what with the NH primaries Tuesday, the Wright hearings Wednesday, and the UNC-TV gubernatorial debate Thursday. I'll be covering all of them - so tonight, I'm stocking up for the sleep deficit. Till then, though...
A little primary fun
NPR's Robert Smith had this fun but smart piece on Mike Huckabee and the Curious Charm of Chuck Norris. Probably the most entertaining 4 minutes on New Hampshire, ever. Before things get serious (in, oh, say, 2 hours), check it out here.
Make your voice heard
If you're wishing you could weigh in Tuesday, but you don't have the right Granite State creds, check this out: The Mount Washington Observatory, one of the coldest and windiest places in the continental US, is holding its own primary for a resident feline after the recent retirement of the incumbent cat, Nin.
Local rescue folks have nominated a slate of promising replacements, each with his or her own "platform." You - yes, you - can vote for your favorite candidate during polling hours here.
Back tomorrow night to watch the NH results come in. I don't think there's much doubt about the top of each ticket (Obama and McCain). Where the rubber meets the (fundraising) road is in the place and show categories. A bad third could put anyone out of the top tier - and to borrow a lottery catchphrase, somebody's got to lose, right?
