Colts!! (Caution: Off-topic content)

NB: this has nothing to do with NC politics - but your Tavern hostess, an avid Colts fan, is beside herself tonight. The perpetual bridesmaids are headed to the Superbowl to face the Bears!!
I hope you'll forgive the indulgence, but the Colts' 38-34 win tonight was just too good not to talk about. After all, the Colts were pummeled by the Steelers in '06 divisionals, beaten up by the Pats in ‘05 and ’04, and soundly thrashed by the Jets (41-0 - ouch!) in the '03 AFC wildcards. So it's been a long dry spell...broken tonight by a record-setting, utterly improbable 18-point comeback (against the Pats, no less!), engineered by Colts mastermind Peyton Manning, who is, honest to pete (I've met him), as nice a guy as he seems.
So, politics aside, break out the blue and cross your fingers - or say a prayer, if you're so inclined - for the Colts. They're probably going to need it. Even so, it's fabulous news.
