ANNOUNCER COPY: Coming up…Producer and engineer Glyn Johns discusses recording The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, and more. Then, a review of the 7th album from British stadium rockers Coldplay.
Hosts Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot pay tribute to Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister, the iconic lead singer and bassist for the English heavy metal band Motörhead. Lemmy died December 28 at the age of 70. He was an important member of the space rock band Hawkwind before forming Motörhead in 1975. Motörhead set the template for the thrash metal bands of the 1980s like Slayer, Metallica, and Anthrax.
English producer and engineer Glyn Johns has been behind the board for classic albums by Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and the Clash. He joins hosts Jim and Greg for a candid conversation about being re-worked by Phil Spector, trying to infuse The Eagles with the blues, and more from his storied career.
Jim and Greg review A Head Full of Dreams, the 7th studio album from British stadium rockers Coldplay. The album features collaborations with Beyoncé and an appearance by President Obama.
